New Release on DVD: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Facts of this film:

Johnny Depp, Oscar-nominated for his original role of Captain Jack Sparrow, returns to the screen as possibly the best-worst pirate ever! He owes a life debt to Davey Jones (Bill Nighy), who is captain of the Flying Dutchman. Also returning in this sequel is Orlando Bloom as Wil Turner, the decent colonialist who is drawn into the life of a pirate, and his sweetheart, Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann.

Instead of being married, Wil and Elizabeth are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass. The two become involved in Sparrow's struggle to free himself of servitude onboard the Flying Dutchman, and Captain Jack Sparrow and Wil Turner's unlikely friendship continues in one misadventure after another. There are more returning characters from the original movie than you can swash a buckle with.

Like the first Pirates of the Caribbean, this film is a combination of action, adventure and comedy and is a great film to watch with family or friends.

Movie Review: Pulp Fiction

Facts of this film:

  • Academy Award® winner on Best Writing and Screenplay, 1995
  • Directed by: Quentin Tarantino (director of Sin City, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Reservoir Dogs)
  • Starring with: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken and Ving Rhames

The lives of two hit men, a boxer, a gangster's wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.

Pulp Fiction is one of Quentin Tarantino’s masterpieces which really consists of four different stories, in no particular order. Any one of these stories could be their own little movie and they contribute to make the film more interesting and exciting. The players are two hit men, a boxer, the big boss, the big boss' wife, a crazy gun store owner, a pimp, a cop, a man who makes problems go away, and a little suitcase with "666" for the combination. You add all this together and it gives you a mixed-story but a make-sensed movie in the end.

Starring with John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis - this film is a heavyweight. With action and comedy in one, Pulp Fiction makes a good blend of violence and American society in the 90’s.

Watch it now, you’ll love it.
